
Weather warnings have been issued for the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, and Aveiro from 18:12 today to 06:00 on Tuesday, with forecasts predicting “showers, sometimes heavy, occasionally in the form of hail,” accompanied by “thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind.”
The IPMA had already placed the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Coimbra, Viseu, Guarda, and Castelo Branco, located in the North and Center of the country, on yellow alert for the period between 06:00 and 21:00 on Tuesday.
For Guarda and Castelo Branco, the agency issued an orange alert, the second level on a three-tier scale that is less severe than red but more serious than yellow, due to thunderstorms possibly accompanied by hail and strong gusts of wind between 18:12 and 21:00 today.
