A 22-year-old foreign national was arrested in Loures for committing an urban arson crime on the morning of September 6 at the residence shared with his family in the Camarate parish.
In a statement, the Judiciary Police disclosed that the individual set fire to the house using a direct flame, allegedly due to psychological issues.
The fire not only destroyed the rented family home, rendering it uninhabitable, but also endangered neighboring residences.
The detainee has since undergone an initial judicial hearing and has been remanded in custody pending trial.
