A 25-year-old man sustained serious injuries on Thursday afternoon during a workplace accident in Albergaria-a-Velha, located in the district of Aveiro.
According to information from the Albergaria-a-Velha Volunteer Firefighters, the young man fell from a “metallic structure” and suffered multiple injuries.
“He sustained injuries to his lower and upper limbs, as well as his spine,” the source noted.
The victim was initially transported to Aveiro Hospital and was later transferred to the Coimbra Hospital and University Center.
The alert was raised at 5:10 PM on Thursday. The emergency response included eight personnel supported by three vehicles, comprising units from the Albergaria-a-Velha Volunteer Firefighters and the National Republican Guard (GNR).
