
A 21-year-old woman was rescued on Sunday after feeling unwell aboard a maritime-tourism vessel en route to Berlenga Island, located in the Peniche municipality.
The emergency services were alerted at 12:35 p.m. through the Urgent Patients Guidance Center (CODU) in Coimbra, as reported by the National Maritime Authority (AMN).
The AMN detailed the deployment of crew members from the Peniche Lifeboat Station along with personnel from the Peniche Volunteer Firefighters.
Upon arrival, operatives from the Peniche Lifeboat Station evacuated the young woman to the Peniche port for medical assistance. The victim was subsequently transported by firefighters to a hospital.
The Maritime Police Command in Peniche has taken charge of the incident.
