Youngsters in serious condition after accident while parasailing on Vilamoura beach

Two young women, aged 22 and 28, were helped on Thursday afternoon following an accident while parasailing on Vilamoura beach in the municipality of Loulé.

Following an alert received at 20:05, through the Urgent Patient Guidance Center (CODU) of Faro, informing of an accident that occurred during the practice of parasailing on a maritime-tourist vessel, elements of the Local Command of the Faro Maritime Police were immediately activated to the site, as well as a team of the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) of INEM.

According to the National Maritime Authority, “the victims, two young women aged 22 and 28, had serious injuries and were transported by the maritime-tourist vessel to the Vilamoura Marina, where they were assisted by INEM elements, and were later transported to a hospital unit”.

The Local Command of the Faro Maritime Police took charge of the incident.
