The festival organized by the municipality of Crato in the district of Portalegre will take place in the village center alongside the 39th Crafts and Gastronomy Fair of the region.
During the four-day event, 12 performances will be held, with three shows per night. The final night on August 30 will feature Zé Filipe, Fernando Daniel, and Nena.
In a statement released today, the organization described Zé Filipe as “one of Brazil’s most prominent contemporary artists,” having begun his career in 2014 after learning to play guitar a few years earlier from his father, Leonardo, of the sertanejo duo Leandro & Leonardo.
Portuguese artists Fernando Daniel, considered a leading figure in the national music scene, and Nena, a singer-songwriter from Lisbon who began writing her own lyrics at the age of 12, complete the lineup for the final evening.
Jüra, another artist announced today by the organizers, is recognized as “one of the standout names in Portugal’s new urban music scene” and will perform in Crato on August 28, sharing the stage with Matuê, Lon3r Johny, and ProfJam.
Jüra (Joana Silva) is “a multifaceted artist” involved in music as a composer and also works as a dancer, acrobat, actress, and has experience in voice acting, emphasized the festival organizers.
Matuê, described as “one of the top Brazilian artists currently,” will present his work and musical influences in Crato on that night, after which rappers Lon3r Johny and ProfJam will showcase their project “London.”
The 2025 edition of the Festival do Crato kicks off on August 27 with the hip-hop group Wet Bed Gang from Vialonga, Vila Franca de Xira.
On the first day, according to the lineup, rapper Plutónio and Mizzy Miles, a prominent figure in Portugal’s hip-hop and urban music scene, will also perform.
On August 29, Skunk Anansie, GNR, and Luís Trigacheiro with guests will take the stage.
The British band Skunk Anansie, led by the charismatic Skin and celebrating 30 years since their debut album “Paranoid and Sunburnt,” returns to Crato 12 years later for “an electrifying performance,” promised the organizers.
The Portuguese band GNR, fronted by Rui Reininho, also returns to the festival 12 years after their last performance here, followed by Alentejo artist Luís Trigacheiro, who will perform with special guests Diogo Piçarra and Buba Espinho.
In addition to the music over four days, visitors can enjoy the exhibits at the 39th Crafts and Gastronomy Fair of Crato.
The organization recalled that the Festival do Crato began in 1984 as the Crafts and Gastronomy Fair of Crato, aiming to promote the local culture, customs, and crafts.
The festival has hosted “internationally recognized names,” such as the Beach Boys (without the Wilson brothers), The Animals, James, Scorpions, and Roger Hodgson (Supertramp).
