Begoleã Fernandes arrived on a flight from Amsterdam and was about to board a flight to Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
A Brazilian man suspected of cannibalism in the Netherlands was arrested by the SEF at Lisbon airport on Monday night, according to SÁBADO and additional information obtained by CM.
Begoleã Fernandes, 25, is suspected of committing a murder in Vegasstraat, north of Amsterdam, on Sunday night and fleeing to Portugal shortly afterwards, allegedly with human flesh in his trunk.
According to an official source of the SEF, the suspect landed on a flight from Amsterdam and wanted to board a flight to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, but presented an Italian identification document that aroused suspicion and then turned out to be false. When authorities checked the man’s real identity, they found that he had an arrest warrant issued the day before by authorities in the Netherlands. He was immediately arrested and will be brought before the Court of Appeals for extradition.
Correio da Manhã is trying to confirm with the tax authorities the presence of human flesh in the luggage. The Criminal Investigation Department has also been asked to assist in the investigation.
According to the Facebook page, Begoleã Fernandes is from Matipó, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The man claims to like music and history, and to play guitar and acoustic guitar. He says he is “a crazy genius, 2% genius and 98% crazy” and “good-humored”.
