Two suspected of being the “main ringleaders” of a drug trafficking network in Lisbon were arrested in the early hours of Saturday, in a police operation in which 23,923 doses of drugs and seven weapons were seized, announced the PSP.

“Immediately proceeded to conduct house searches”, said the police, noting that this resulted in the seizure of a total of 23,923 doses of narcotics, namely “1,394 individual doses of cocaine, 17,349 individual doses of hashish and 5,180 individual doses of liamba”.
Seven firearms were also seized, namely a shotgun, a sawed-off shotgun, three 9 mm pistols, a 7.65 pistol and a compressed air pistol, revealed the PSP, adding that hundreds of rounds of ammunition of various calibers were also confiscated.
Other items seized were “€44,000 in cash, drug packaging material and scales, and several volumes of unstamped tobacco”, police said.
According to the PSP, the two detainees, “main ringleaders of this criminal organization”, They are waiting to be presented to 1st judicial interrogation, for application of coercive measures.
