A 30-year-old man was arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) on Monday at 8:00 PM after assaulting a PSP officer in Porto.
In a statement, the police explained that this man was subject to “police intervention” in the early hours of Thursday, August 8, “for disturbing the operation of a restaurant and beverage establishment.”
Subsequently, on Monday, he went to the Infante Police Station, “insulting one of the officers involved in the previous intervention, and upon verifying the officer’s presence at that location, with a sudden and impetuous attitude, assaulted him.”
The assaulted officer required hospital treatment.
The detainee was notified to appear before the Judicial Authorities for the application of appropriate coercive measures.
