Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud, the defending champion and first seed, qualified for the semi-finals of the Estoril Open today by beating Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in two sets.
At the Estoril Tennis Club, Ruud, ranked eighth in the world, beat Fucsovics (85th), who was clearly struggling physically, 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and 13 minutes.
Without a title since his triumph at the Estoril Tennis Club, Ruud will now face Spaniard Pedro Martínez, who beat Frenchman Richard Gasquet, who won the tournament in 2015.
