A 36-year-old man, who was banned from attending sports venues, was arrested on August 12 after being caught at a football match in the municipality of Arouca by the National Republican Guard (GNR).
In a statement, the Guard revealed that as soon as they detected the suspect, he was arrested and removed from the premises, as he was prohibited from attending sports venues under the legal framework for security and combating racism, xenophobia, and intolerance in sports.
By violating the sanction that had been imposed on him, the man committed a crime of disobedience.
The facts have since been referred to the Judicial Court of Arouca.
