A fire erupted in the Malhada da Palmela area, with the alert being issued at 4:12 PM, according to the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection.
The blaze consumed a pasture and cork oak area; no homes were affected. However, one individual was transported to Beja Hospital due to smoke inhalation, the source added.
In response to the fire, 126 personnel were deployed, supported by 46 vehicles and five aerial units.
