The document presented today by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Carlos Abreu Amorim, to the first vice-president of parliament, Social Democrat Teresa Morais, outlines the revision of the allocation and oversight of the RSI, as well as the introduction of solidarity obligations.
In February this year, the monthly RSI amount increased by nearly five euros, reaching 242.23 euros. This social benefit is for individuals in extreme poverty and includes a program aimed at “progressive social, labor, and community integration” for the beneficiaries, according to information available on the Social Security Institute’s website.
The program of the XXV Constitutional Government, emerging from the legislative elections of May 18 won by the AD (PSD/CDS) coalition, was delivered today in the Assembly of the Republic by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Carlos Abreu Amorim.
The Government program was approved in the Council of Ministers on Thursday and will be discussed in the Assembly of the Republic on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The PCP has already announced that it will present a motion of rejection, but this initiative from the communists is expected to fail, as it lacks support not only from PSD and CDS but also from Chega and PS.
