“Portugal closely follows with deep concern the worsening situation in the Middle East. It urges maximum restraint, avoiding a dangerous escalation, and reopening diplomatic channels,” stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Paulo Rangel, via social media.
In the same statement, the Government highlighted that it is in contact with Portuguese diplomatic missions to “ensure the protection of Portuguese citizens in the region”.

The Israeli government stated that the military operation will proceed, and Iranian authorities have vowed an unrestricted response to the Israeli attacks.
