The total value of IRS refunds already issued amounts to 21.7 million euros, the Ministry of Finance said today, indicating that 205,000 tax refunds have been processed so far.
“To date, the number of IRS declarations filed has already exceeded two million (2,042,060 declarations), and 205,000 refunds have already been issued,” an official source from the Ministry of Finance told Lusa, adding that “the total amount of refunds paid amounts to 21.7 million euros”.
Of the total number of tax returns submitted since the start of this year’s IRS campaign (for 2023 income), 890,000 have been submitted via IRS Automático.
The Ministry of Finance also states that the average value of the refunds already issued is around 867 euros, and the average time taken to return the tax is 12.8 days.
The annual IRS tax return began on April 1 and runs until June 30, covering all income categories.
