The results obtained at the end of the first section of the race in which the driver was the best in all three sections.
Armindo Araújo is already leading the Lisbon Rally. The Portuguese driver was the best in the first section of the race, which took place on Saturday morning, and was clearly superior in all three sections at the wheel of his Skoda Fabia RS Rally2.
José Pedro Fontes, in his Citroën C3 Rally2, followed close behind at 6.2 seconds, and Rui Madeira, in his Citroën C3 Rally2, completed the podium. Ricardo Teodósio and Rúben Rodrigues were fourth and fifth respectively.
Outside the Portuguese core group, Spaniards Daniel Berdomas and Sergi Francoli (Toyota Gazoo Racing Iberian Cup) occupy seventh and eighth places.
The second section, comprising the second round, is still scheduled for this afternoon and will take in Vila Franca de Xira, Alenquer, Vinhos de Lisboa and Montejunto.
Sunday sees three further stages – Loures, Transgrua and ESC Online. The Loures section will take place between Ponte de Lousa and Lousa, the Transgrua section between Sobral de Monte Agraço and Arruda dos Vinhos and, finally, the ESC Online section will take place near Arruda dos Vinhos, crossing the A10 freeway twice. The race will finish in Belém.
This 2023 edition of the Lisbon Rally counts towards the Portugal Rally Cup, being a candidate to integrate the Portugal Rally Championship 2024, and is punctuated for the International Iberian Rally Trophy, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Iberian Cup, the Kumho Asphalt Challenge, the Kumho Centro Challenge and the Kumho South Challenge.
