The Lithuanian film ‘Left-Handed Pen’ by Adas Burksaitis has won the Best Fiction award at the Beast festival, while ‘Ludmila’s Apple Pie’ by Loukia Hadjiyianni received the Best Documentary award, announced the event’s organizers today.
In a statement, the festival’s organizers, which concluded today in Porto, revealed that ‘Hollowgram’ by Laura Iancu won in the Best Experimental Film category, and the Polish film ‘Can You Hear Me?’ by Anastazja Naumenko received the award for Best Animation.
The jury also awarded mentions in the four categories of the festival, dedicated to Central and Eastern European cinema.
The Beast festival took place at Batalha Centro de Cinema, Cinema Trindade, Passos Manuel, OKNa, and the Rectory of the University of Porto. Starting this year, it will always be held in the first half of the year.
