The match between Sporting CP and FC Porto at José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon, counting for the 4th round of Liga Portugal Betclic on August 31st at 8:30 PM, will cause some traffic restrictions.
According to a statement from the PSP (Public Security Police), this is considered a “high-risk” event, with an expected attendance of around 48,000 people.
The official opening time for the stadium gates is set for 6:30 PM. However, the PSP will begin its operations in the morning, focusing on parking enforcement and traffic control.
There will be temporary traffic restrictions, particularly during the movement of teams and organized groups of supporters, especially those considered high-risk. The PSP intends for visiting supporters to gather near the Association of Disabled Armed Forces on Avenida Padre Cruz at 6:00 PM.
Traffic restrictions:
Rua Professor Fernando da Fonseca (between Gate 1 of EJA and Rotunda Visconde de Alvalade) – 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
The Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP will deploy a police force “deemed appropriate to the circumstances, including various PSP units.”
The PSP reminds that, according to current legislation, it is a crime to:
• Distribute and sell fake or irregular admission tickets
• Damage public transport, facilities, or equipment used by the public
• Participate in a brawl while traveling to or from the sporting event
• Unauthorized entry of any person into the competition area (field)
The PSP advises:
• Using public transportation to reach José Alvalade Stadium, avoiding bringing vehicles to the vicinity
• Arriving early, allowing time for necessary security procedures
• If using personal vehicles, park in supervised and designated parking areas
• Avoid carrying bags and backpacks into the sports venue
The PSP appeals to fans and supporters attending the Stadium to “adopt appropriate behaviors and attitudes in a sporting environment, respecting all participants, avoiding incitement to violence, promoting and participating in conflicts and/or situations of public disorder, in which the PSP will not hesitate to intervene to restore security conditions and ensure the normal course of the sporting event.”
