Pedro Dias, who joined the XXIV Government in April 2024, after 13 years (since 2011) as a board member of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), has been reappointed in the XXV Constitutional Government.
Having a background in futsal and academic sports, Pedro Dias retains his responsibility for the sports portfolio in Portugal, following a decade linked to the FPF under the leadership of Fernando Gomes, now president of the Portuguese Olympic Committee.
The Secretariat of State for Sports, which in the XXIV Government was under the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, is now integrated into the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports, headed by Margarida Balseiro Lopes.
The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, today accepted the list of 43 secretaries of state proposed by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro for the XXV Constitutional Government.
The President of the Republic today swore in the Prime Minister and the 16 ministers of the XXV Constitutional Government, the second PSD/CDS-PP executive led by Luís Montenegro.
The swearing-in of the secretaries of state is scheduled for Friday at 12:00, at the National Palace of Ajuda in Lisbon.
