PJ will conduct new searches in Maddie case: authorities delimit Arade dam, 50 km from Praia da Luz

The Judicial Police will carry out new searches, at the request of the German police, in the Arade dam, about 50 kilometers from Praia da Luz, in the Algarve. The main suspect in the kidnapping of Madeleine McCann, Christian Brueckner, was a regular at the site and the German authorities want to know if there are traces that can bring new data about the case that occurred in 2007.

Christian Brueckner is currently detained in Germany for five sex crimes committed in Portugal between 2000 and 2017, although he has always denied involvement in the Maddie case, ‘SIC Notícias’ indicated this Monday.

The area of the dam is being delimited the search will start this Tuesday, in an operation that will also have the presence of British police. Madeleine Beth McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007, in Praia da Luz, Algarve, in one of the most publicized cases ever in Portugal.
