A 45-year-old man has been arrested on strong suspicion of drug trafficking, the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) announced on Saturday. The suspect, who was identified as a significant supplier in the Guimarães municipality, has been placed in preventive detention.
In a statement, the PJ reported that the man was caught in the act, following an investigation predominantly conducted in that municipality and surrounding areas.
Alongside the arrest, authorities seized enough drugs to prepare approximately 3,270 individual doses of cocaine and 100 individual doses of cannabis.
“Significant amounts of money, derived from criminal activities aimed at regularly supplying various local drug trafficking and consumption circuits, were also seized,” authorities detailed.
After being brought before a judge for an initial judicial interrogation, the man was remanded in custody.
