The traffic in the area of Santa Cruz on the Freeway, in the direction Ribeira Brava – Machico, is still quite conditioned after an accident that left one of the vehicles turned in the opposite direction.

As the photo shows, the truck involved in the accident is facing the opposite direction of traffic.

The last car has already been towed away, but the traffic is still blocked and heavily conditioned, to the point that drivers are being diverted to Caniço. The problem for many is that they are in a dead-end zone and are, therefore, blocked until the road is cleared.

At least one lane in each direction is still impassable.

The accident reportedly involved a truck and at least three other vehicles.

Another accident that occurred in the descent after Caniço de Baixo, more precisely on the bridge of the highway that crosses that parish, also continues to congest traffic.
