The fire that broke out on Monday in Arcos, municipality of Vila do Conde, which forced the A7 to be cut in both directions, is already dominated, in the aftermath, since about 06:30 today.
In a statement made to Lusa, a source from the Sub-Regional Command for Civil Protection Emergency Operations of the Metropolitan Area of Porto said that some means of the volunteer firefighters of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim are still on the ground in consolidation of the aftermath.
“At the moment, it is important to prevent flare-ups, so water is still being discharged in some places,” he added.
The alert for the fire was given at 13:24 on Monday, having started in Arcos, parish of Rio Mau and Arcos, municipality of Vila do Conde.
The flames forced the A7 (Vila do Conde / Famalicão) to be cut in both directions, but circulation was restored around 03:00 today.
The Sub-regional Command of the Porto Metropolitan Area also revealed that, during Monday afternoon, four firefighters were assisted by exhaustion, being considered lightly injured.
