The districts of Evora, Setúbal and Beja are today under yellow warning because of hot weather, a situation that extends on Sunday to Castelo Branco and Portalegre, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
In addition to districts in continental Portugal, the southern coast of the Autonomous Region of Madeira will also be under yellow warning, between 11:29 am today and 6:00 pm Sunday.
According to IPMA, the yellow warning, the second weakest of four, is in force today, since 12:00, in the districts of Evora, Setúbal and Beja, due to the “persistence of high values of maximum temperature.
In Évora and Beja, the warning is in effect until 9:00 PM on Monday, while in the district of Setúbal it is in effect until 9:00 PM on Sunday.
From 12:00 noon on Sunday until 9:00 pm on Monday, Castelo Branco and Portalegre will also be under yellow warning due to hot weather.
Thus, during this weekend, five of the 18 districts in continental Portugal are under yellow warning, as well as the southern coast of Madeira.
