The bush fire that broke out around 5:00 pm in Loures, in the district of Lisbon, forced the cut of Highway 8 (A8) in the north-south direction, the concessionaire of the road told Lusa.
“Visibility is improving, but by indication of the GNR we will proceed to cut the A8 in the north-south direction to the Lousa node,” the same source told Lusa.
The fire, which broke out around 17:17 in the Lousa area, Carrasqueira, in the municipality of Loures, mobilized by 18:50, 181 operational, supported by 47 vehicles and an air means, according to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority.
Some images and videos from motorists are circulating on social media showing a cloud of smoke next to the A8.
