“The fire is in the resolution phase, we will maintain the personnel on the ground to prevent reignitions during the night and early morning,” stated the Sub-Regional Commander of Emergency and Civil Protection of Terras de Trás-os-Montes, João Noel Afonso.
The alert for the fire in Carregosa was given at 6:55 PM on Saturday, and by 9:00 PM today, there were 147 operatives and 58 vehicles on site.
The fire that also broke out on Saturday in the municipality of Vimioso, also in Bragança, and which spread to the neighboring municipality of Miranda do Douro, affecting the parishes of São Martinho de Angueira and Cicouro, is “under surveillance.”
According to the official page of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC), at 9:00 PM, there were 139 operatives supported by 48 vehicles within the perimeter of the fire.
