Five mainland districts will be under yellow warning on Wednesday due to the forecast of strong wind, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

The districts of Faro, Setúbal, Lisbon, Leiria and Beja will be under yellow warning due to strong winds with gusts up to 75 kilometers per hour between 12:00 pm on Wednesday and 12:00 am on Friday.

The districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga will be joined by these five districts from 12:00 on Thursday until 00:00 on Friday, also due to strong winds.

The IPMA has put the island of Madeira under yellow warning until 18:00 today because of strong wind, which can reach 100 kilometers per hour in mountainous areas.

The yellow warning is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain weather-dependent activities.
