The Regional Directorate for Health, through the Operational Unit for Intervention in Addictive Behaviors and Dependencies (UCAD), is carrying out preventive interventions during recreational evening events, such as parties, festivals and festivals. The project in progress, called #Vibes4U NoDrugs, focuses on raising awareness among those attending the Arraial de São Vicente of the risks associated with excessive consumption of alcohol and other substances.
This initiative is carried out by young volunteers from the Nursing and Psychology courses, based on peer education, where they approach event-goers and take on the task of disseminating preventive messages.
This project is the result of close collaboration with institutions such as the São José Cluny Nursing School, the University of Madeira and the Public Security Police (PSP). This action is part of the ‘+ Verão … Without Drugs’ campaign, promoted by the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection, through the Regional Health Directorate (DRS).
